This project consisted of a control system upgrade at the main processing facility for the USPS in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. This facility operates 24 hours per day, is a major hub for the St. Louis region, and covers two full city blocks. It includes major mail processing and shipping areas, internal and external loading docks, offices spaces, and additional support area. During this process, the team found a supply and return fan tracking problem that produced strong negative pressure conditions, which were especially problematic for the large loading dock area in this facility. Once CxE identified and corrected this, the building operator noted that the building was operating better than it ever had in his experience.
