Sparta High School, located in Sparta, Illinois consists of three buildings: the main high school building, a vocational center, and the Fulton Gymnasium. Retrocommissioning services included an in-depth review of energy usage and issues related to building envelope, mechanical and control systems, and lighting, with the intent to identify improvement measures with simple payback of less than 1.5 years. When the savings were presented to the district superintendent, he expressed that the savings would allow him to hire two more badly-needed teachers.
