The Hillsboro Treatment Center is a secure detention facility for youth meeting academic and therapeutic needs of its residents. The original roof mounted HVAC system for this building was located in a depressed section of the roof that effectively prevented efficient operation and resulted in repeated compressor failures. CxE identified a solution for the equipment problem and introduced a control system upgrade for additional savings. A separate DX split system was added for the 24-hour security monitoring room, allowing the main system to be shut down at night and providing a backup means of cooling for this critical function.
