The Engineering Building at SIUE is divided into four floors. Almost an acre of high performance glass forms the curtain walls on the north and south sides of the west wing of the building. The facility features a three-story atrium that is crossed at the second and third floor levels by walkways and houses an auditorium, classrooms, laboratories specific to electrical, industrial, mechanical, civil, and computer engineering, and offices for faculty and staff. CxE identified options to improve the operation of the perimeter lighting, which was in process of being replaced and upgraded. Improvements to the operation of the main HVAC system for this building also resolved long freeze stat tripping problems.
